As we age, our lips may lose some of their fullness over time. There are many new and exciting advances in lip augmentation on the horizon. A MicroDroplet Fat injection and a variety of filler materials are used to augment the lips. These are performed as an outpatient minor surgical procedure. Means while surgical lip reduction is also performed in younger age group to harmonise their faces.

To reduce the thick or prominent lip, mucosal and some part of lip's muscle are resected through lip incision according to facial profile. Swelling lip recovers in one week but the ultimate result usually requires 12 to 16 weeks to become fully apparent. Only flake scar appears on the lip's mucosa.
Lip reduction is performed under local anesthesia in about one to two hours. Both upper and lower lips can be reduced in the same time.
Because of plenty blood supply in oral region,wound infection is very rare to occur. Temporally numbness may be found in first few weeks.
