Kris Baird, President/CEO, Baird Group
Kris Baird is an author, speaker, trainer, and patient experience strategist. She is also CEO and founder of Baird Group, a consulting firm she launched in 1991 that provides patient experience improvement strategies to hundreds of healthcare organizations internationally. A 35-year veteran nurse and hospital executive, Kris utilizes her vast experience to communicate as someone who’s “been there, done that.”
A highly sought-after consultant, she works with individuals and groups from the front line, medical staff and C-suite, guiding them through culture changes with measurable results in patient satisfaction and employee engagement. In 2009, Kris was appointed by the Secretary of Health to serve as an adviser for the National Health Service Corps. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master of Health Administration from Cardinal Stritch University.
Thomas Carrigan, MD, MHSA, Cardiac Electrophysiologist, Saint Elizabeth Physicians
Thomas Carrigan is a cardiac electrophysiologist at Saint Elizabeth Physicians in Edgewood, KY. He has served as a clinical lecturer on cardiovascular medicine at the University of Michigan, co-director of the atrial fibrillation ablation program, and on the board of directors for the My Heart Your Heart project. His work with My Heart Your Heart includes medical missions to Ghana implanting pacemakers for indigent patients in underserved regions.
A frequent lecturer on cardiovascular and cardiac care topics, Thomas is also an extensively published author. His board certifications include Internal Medicine (ABIM), American Society of Echocardiography, Cardiovascular Medicine (ABIM) and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology (ABIM).
Tammy Kastre, MD, Chief Medical Officer, pCare
Tammy Kastre is chief medical officer of pCare, where she defines the overall clinical vision of the company and utilizes her expertise in helping hospital partners leverage their EHR systems to drive deeper patient engagement and maximize workflow efficiencies.
Tammy has extensive experience with interactive patient care and population health management solutions. She is board certified with the American Board of Emergency Medicine and a fellow of the College of Emergency Medicine. Tammy received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Arizona, School of Medicine.
Thomas Pappas, National Sales Manager, TNP Holdings
Thomas Pappas is the national sales manager for TNP Holdings and is responsible for client and strategic development. Prior to this role, he was CEO of United Healthcare of PA, which he transformed into a formidable competitor. He also served as senior vice president, managing principal and global sales and marketing manager at Johnson & Higgins, a global professional services firm. Thomas is well regarded on a national level for his accomplishments, the breadth of which have earned him numerous honors, including the recent dedication of the Thomas N. Pappas Business Center at the Union League of Philadelphia. He is a graduate of La Salle University and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Terri Ann Parnell, DNP, RN, MA, FAAN, Principal & Founder, Health Literacy Partners
Terri Ann Parnell is a nationally recognized health literacy expert and an award-winning author. She is principal and founder of Health Literacy Partners LLC, which provides a tapestry of solutions that promote health equity by enhancing person-centered care, effective communication, and the patient experience.
Terri is a member of the Roundtable on Health Literacy of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine and has served as a committee member on the American Nurses Association care coordination quality measures panel. She is a fellow in the American Academy of Nursing and the New York Academy of Medicine, and was selected for the 2016/17 New York Academy of Medicine fellow ambassadors program. In 2015, her second book, Health Literacy in Nursing: Providing Person-Centered Care, received an American Journal of Nursing book of the year award in the nursing management and leadership category.
