Robert Geckle, Acting Chief Executive Officer
Robert Geckle has over 45 years of industry experience as an executive with Fortune 100 and privately held industrial and technology based businesses. His experience includes extensive line management responsibilities in marketing, manufacturing and general management.
In addition to his role at pCare, he works with leading private equity firms as an advisory director and portfolio company board member. Geckle engages in both new deal due diligence and post acquisition integration and oversight. He also focuses on implementing cost improvement programs and value enhancement business processes for portfolio companies.
Prior to pCare, Geckle was with Textron for 5 years where he served as President of Textron’s Fluid and Power Systems Group and held executive positions at Emerson Electric spanning a 20-year career. In his most senior position at Emerson he was Chairman and President of Branson Ultrasonics Corp., a global leader in ultrasonic joining, cleaning and testing technologies. His early career was in the health care industry with Glaxo Smithkline.
Geckle received his undergraduate degree from Middlebury College, Middlebury, VT and an MBA from Wharton Graduate School, University of Pennsylvania.
Pat Barilla, Chief Operations Officer
As Chief Operations Officer of pCare, Pat Barilla manages day-to-day operations, leads the client services team, and ensures the highest standards of customer service and quality. He also collaborates with clients to achieve operational improvements and strategic patient engagement goals.
Prior to joining the company, Pat was Director of Operations for Sears Holding Company, where he worked with clients to establish operational objectives and policies, achieve performance improvements, and exceed departmental organizational goals. He has a degree in business.
John Orr, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
John Orr is Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of pCare, where he is responsible for the company’s financial strategy and leads finance, legal, accounting, and human resources functions.
Prior to joining the company, John was Chief Financial Officer of Woodbury Health Products, a direct-to-consumer distributor of high-quality healthcare products, for five years. This role followed 13 years as Chief Financial Officer of Jobson Medical Information, a premier healthcare information and marketing services provider. John passed the CPA exam and holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and an MBA in finance.
Mark Cortina, Chief Technology Officer
In his role as Chief Technology Officer of pCare, Mark Cortina is responsible for the company’s technology roadmap, leads research & development, and manages the product and application development team. Mark’s depth of experience in patient-facing systems played a pivotal role in the successful launch of the company’s mobile strategy, as well as its proficiency in integrating seamlessly with hospitals’ EHR systems.
Prior to joining the company, Mark led Equator Technologies’ IT business development efforts for large enterprise clients. He has a degree in business.
Adam Koch, Chief Performance Officer
As Chief Performance Officer for pCare, Adam Koch ensures the quality of the daily pCare interactions of over 5,000 patients. This includes overseeing pCare’s 24/7 call center, its on-site concierge team, and the Patient Experience group, which assures both patients and hospital staff get the most out of the company’s interactive communication solutions.
Adam has over 10 years of operational experience in more than 200 healthcare locations; he provides an expansive perspective on how to ensure new technology is adapted and understands how to help hospitals leverage innovative solutions to achieve their objectives. Adam has led dozens of deployments and maintained responsibility for maximizing ongoing, day-to-day satisfaction post deployment.
Prior to joining pCare, Adam served as a Principal at engineering consultancy firm Shen Milsom & Wilke, which designs technological solutions to improve the visitor experience in a variety of buildings, including hospitals. Adam earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from New York University.
Terri Ann Parnell, DNP, RN, MA, FAAN, Chief Nursing Officer
Terri Ann Parnell is Chief Nursing Officer of pCare, as well as a nationally recognized health literacy expert and an award-winning author. She is principal and founder of Health Literacy Partners LLC, which provides a tapestry of solutions that promote health equity by enhancing person-centered care, effective communication, and the patient experience.
Terri is a member of the Roundtable on Health Literacy of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine and has served as a committee member on the American Nurses Association care coordination quality measures panel. She is a fellow in the American Academy of Nursing and the New York Academy of Medicine, and was selected for the 2016/17 New York Academy of Medicine fellow ambassadors program. In 2015, her second book, Health Literacy in Nursing: Providing Person-Centered Care, received an American Journal of Nursing book of the year award in the nursing management and leadership category.
Tammy Kastre, MD, Chief Medical Officer
Tammy Kastre is Chief Medical Officer of pCare, where she defines the overall clinical vision of the company and utilizes her expertise in helping hospital partners leverage their EHR systems to drive deeper patient engagement and maximize workflow efficiencies.
Tammy has extensive experience with interactive patient care and population health management solutions. She is board certified with the American Board of Emergency Medicine and a fellow of the College of Emergency Medicine. Tammy received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Arizona, School of Medicine.
Monica Olaff, Patient Outcomes Leader
Monica Olaff is the Patient Outcomes Leader of pCare. In this role, she leads the Patient Experience team, ensuring that clients and patients receive the most out of their pCare solution. With 15 years in the patient experience field, where she developed programs, analyzed patient satisfaction, and created strategies for hospital-wide TV educational content, Monica is well-suited to work with both patients and staff to drive outcomes for our pCare partners.
Prior to joining the company, Monica worked with the company on the client side as Director of Patient experience at JFK Medical Center, a 500-bed acute care hospital. Before that, she was Manager of Patient Relations at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton for eight years, a position she advanced to following two years as the hospital’s human resources recruiter. Monica holds a bachelor’s in communications from Monmouth University and is proficient in American Sign Language.
Ken Honeycutt, Director of Strategic Accounts and Channels
Ken Honeycutt is Director of Strategic accounts and channels at pCare. He has over 25 years’ experience working in innovation and strategy for major US healthcare vendors and providers, including Cardinal Health/Pyxis, McKesson, Cerner, UPMC and IBM. Some of his more notable projects include Cerner Smartroom and UPMC Smartroom’s hospital rooms of the future and IBM’s digital hospital perspective on the hospital of the future.
Prior to joining pCare in 2017, Ken was President of Alacarte Services Group, which he founded in 2013. He has a bachelor’s in economics from UNC Chapel Hill.
Alicia Moura, Director of Marketing
Director of Marketing of pCare, Alicia Moura has over 12 years of experience in integrated marketing, with a focus on digital transformation, internal communications, and content strategy.
Prior to joining the company, Alicia was Senior Marketing Manager, patient access services, at Truveris, following her role as Senior Consultant at Strategic Issues Management Group, a position she achieved after her time as Director of Marketing Communications at Tucson Medical Center. She has also written medical travel guides and built medical tourism programs. Before transitioning into a career in healthcare, she worked and lived abroad as a journalist for several global media companies. Alicia has a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University and an MBA from IE University in Madrid.
